Bill Hurley co-founded Legacy Advisors, Inc. in 1998 to help clients navigate the ever-changing financial landscape with an objective, long-term approach tailored to their unique values and circumstances. Bill graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science, and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designations.
At Legacy, Bill has particular expertise in life insurance, advanced estate planning techniques, charitable giving techniques, and business planning needs. Prior to joining Legacy, Bill was a financial advisor at American Express Financial Advisors (now Riversource), where he and Legacy co-founder Robert Adams met and began developing the vision and philosophies that would lead to the creation of Legacy Advisors. Before joining the financial profession, Bill owned a successful retail distributorship in Montgomery. Prior to that, he was a pilot with Eastern Airlines and served in the U.S. Air Force, where he trained pilots during the Vietnam War. Outside of Legacy, Bill serves as an elder at Gateway Baptist Church, where he has led missions to India.
Bill’s love of Native American art, which goes back to his childhood in the Grand Canyon and other places in the Southwest, is visible in several pieces on display in Legacy’s office. Bill lives in Montgomery with his wife, Patti. Their son, Billy, lives in Atlanta with his wife Heather and daughters, Savannah and Summer.
