Asset Management

Client Centered

The world has experienced profound changes since we opened more than twenty years ago. By sticking to a few simple principles, we’ve helped our clients navigate those changes to find opportunity, cope with uncertainty, and stay focused on their goals.

We must begin by understanding you. We start by sitting down with you to learn about your needs, goals, and circumstances. We’ll discuss topics like tax management and risk and, together, decide the roles these should play in your portfolio. We’ll talk about your past investment experience and your comfort with different types of investments, then find out what other details of your situation should influence the design of your portfolio.

You deserve objectivity and choice. We chose LPL Financial, the country’s largest independent broker-dealer*, because it doesn’t offer products of its own, but maintains relationships with a large number of investment companies. This approach maximizes the choices available to you and ensures that our recommendations stay objective.  Using in-depth research available from LPL Financial and third-party providers, we’ll assemble the appropriate choices into a portfolio tailored to you.

Opportunity and uncertainty require a disciplined response. Even the most thoughtfully designed portfolio is useless if it gets abandoned due to fear of a market decline or the temptation of short-term gain. We take a long-term, buy-and-hold approach and use tactics such as diversification, dollar-cost averaging, asset allocation, and rebalancing. While these don’t guarantee success or positive returns, they help minimize emotion-based decisions and keep you focused on your goals.

Regular reviews are essential. From time to time, changes in the economy or in your circumstances will require adjustments to your portfolio. Again, we prefer a systematic approach that encourages a long-term view. We’ll meet with you on a regular basis to review your portfolio and consider potential adjustments. Of course, we also realize some decisions require a quick response, so we’re available to meet with you whenever needed.
